Some enemies can be talked to.
Examples:
Qaddafi
Mao
Some cannot.
Examples:
Bin Laden
Hitler
This is something to be judged on a case by case basis. |

It is not just a Christian principal.
The military philospher, Sun-Tzu, wrote, "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."
Maintaining friendly relations with hostile countries, allows us to keep a better eye on what they are doing. |

That's where the real Christians part ways with the pew warmers. It is interesting to note that the Conservatives claim to be the keepers of Christian values but have little compassion for those in the greatest need of assistance. they also rail against abortion but would willingly condemn them and their families to deep poverty once they are here. and let's not forget that they fully endorsed invading Iraq with their leader claiming he was taking "higher orders" yet never stopped to ask "isn't this a direct violation of God's command and his son's teachings?" |

there is a great movie out called Fog of War. it basically says the entire Vietnam war could have been avoided if we had but talked.
The film is an interview of McNamara...who was secretary of defense under LBJ. |

I subscribe to what Pres Kennedy said. One should not be afraid to negotiate, but should not negotiate out of fear. Also a good defense is a good defense no matter what. |

Shoot first. Ask questions later. Then go to church on Sunday. |

You have more chance reasoning with a grizzly bear with a splinter in his @rse, than you have with Bin Laden. |

Depends on the enemy.
Some enemies we can talk to if they are a more rational country/government.
Others need continuous slaps on the wrist since they want what they want and throw tantrums when they don't get it, but that's it.
Another is one that can be intimidated by a simple "click, click of a shotgun" and can be a threat but more of a nuisance.
Still others cannot be talked to, terrorists being the main point here. They are not rational in any way whatsoever and have no want of talking. All they want is death of other people. With these enemies, the shoot first applies very, very well. |

We need to tell our enemies that we would like to talk to them about a gift we have for them. Ask them to assemble in one place so we can deliver the gift. Tell them we are going to pray for them that they will find a way to be at the assembly place at a certain time so they can receive the gift. Then when they are all there, WHAMO - BAM - BAM - WHAMO - Then say, Oops, I sorry, Now you my friend. |
