Steps of Becoming an Ranger?

I always wanted to be one. I have gone to the gym since I was 13. I am 18 now. I have done krav maga, bjj, and judo from age 9 up until the age of 15. I stopped doing it because of some family issues. I have even denied getting remotely close to beer or any drug just so I can be healthy when I have a chance to be a ranger.

So I have been researching, and apparently you have to have a 40 contract when you enlist. I have yet to talk to a recruiter yet, because I don't want to go in not looking completly uninformed.
What are the steps to become an ranger?

Here are my stats
2 mile run: 14 minutes
3 mile run: 22-24 minutes
Pushups: 100 in 2 minutes
Situps: 100 in 2 minutes
Pullups: 15
I can swim, but not really to good at it.
I know I am mentally prepare and will not stop at the "wall" because I have not quit anything since that day. (long story)

Staying away from alcohol and drugs? That's good. It is also mentioned in the third stanza of the Ranger Creed: Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.

Keep training to get faster and to go further. The first week of Ranger School weeds out a lot of people who did not physically/mentally prepare themselves:

Day 1: In-processing, medical screening, Ranger PFT, CWST, Battalion Commander Orientation

Day 2: 5-mile run, introduction to land navigation, leader task classes, hand to hand combat

Day 3: Land navigation test (starts at night, ends midmorning), fundamentals of patrolling, hand to hand combat

Day 4: 2.5 mile buddy run, water confidence test, rifle bayonet fighting techniques

Day 5: Land navigation re-test, rifle bayonet fighting techniques, troop leading procedure classes

Day 6: Airborne operation (for Airborne qualified personnel only), Ranger task training, battle drills, intelligence briefing

Day 7: Fundamentals of patrolling and battle drills

Day 8: 16-mile ruck to Camp Darby

Your best chance of becoming a Ranger is to enlist for it.....have it written in your contract......the Army does not have to give you anything but what is written in the contract.....promises not in black and white in the contract mean nothing

You seem physically qualified for almost anything you want to try for.....

If you intend to make the military a career......Ranger is not necessarily the best choice..... there are some negatives
If you intend to make the military a career.....I suggest 18X Special Forces for several reasons

If you want to discuss it.....feel free to email me

NICKLC24...... Good run down if they do not change the training schedule.....as I remember the Night Land Nav course starts while it is still light.....If you are smart.....you plot your targets on the map and run the course.....not walk RUN..... if you are good you can hit all your points before it gets too dark to see..... I max'd the course and was almost always the compassman
