Swiss citizenship and US military?

I know a guy who's Swiss and he's about to leave for the US to study. Once he gets the green card, he would love to sign up immediately for the US Army. The thing is, that in the Swiss law, Swiss citizens are not allowed to serve other countries, since they would be considered as mercenaries.
Would the US Army care ? or would it refuse him because the swiss law says so ?

The Swiss may have a problem with him serving, but our military would not. (And the Swiss should shut up about mercenaries...what do you call the Swiss Guard at the Vatican?)
In my 21 years of service, and two tours as a DI, I had many Filipinos, a Greek, a kid from the Netherlands, Vietnamese, and an Italian. Not to mention many card-carrying Hispanics.
Swiss? No problem. In fact, since he's probably multi-lingual, he'd have the recruiters drooling. |

You should contact a recruiter. They are the ones who can best answer the question. They know what the current up to dates rules and regulations are. Just because you call the recruiter you are under no obligation to do anything. |

I'm actually looking also to enjoy USMC. The thing as well, I have the swiss citizen-ship, but my mom is a filippina and yeah my dad is swiss..
honestly? I rather serve USMC instead of swiss army... they also asked me to join the swiss guard at vatikan...
now I am 22 years old, my education at the commercial school is heading to the end.. and I didn't find yet a legal way, for what I wanna do! |
