It was not a US Government Blunder...
It sits totally on "Dug Out Doug's" shoulders...
he disobeyed a Direct Order from the President...

Not to push up to the Yalu River...
which he did...hence the Thousands of
unnecessary KIA's/WIA's on both sides...

As always "Dug Out Doug" always underestimated
his enemies...his ego was such that he thought that
President of the US wouldn't Dare sack his dumb a*s.

Just like every political and military judgement they have taken since 7th December 1941?

But they do MEAN well, I honestly believe that. It just always ends up with people getting blasted, which is regrettable.

first they didnt push it up the north pushed it down and we pushed back , no we acomplished our mission and it was done well

It depends on whether or not you believe in the "domino effect" of communism. If you do, we had to go in and we at least prevented half of the Koreans from becoming angry communists. If you don't, then we just alienated half a country where we had no business to be and ultimately created Kim Jong Il who may be worse than what we would have gotten otherwise. Either way, like Iraq, we should have been ready to finish the job if we were going to go in in the first place.
