i go for 3 years in the army, and while im in there i do the EarmyU program to earn credits for college. After my active duty, i will finish college and get my bachelors degree.
is this an alright plan, any holes?
and about how many credits do you think i could get during that time?

and do credits gained in EarmyU transfer over to universities well or not?

Ya its a pretty good Idea. I'm doing the same thing. As you probably know you can get your degree through EarmyU through a number of different Universities, all of them are accredited. I'm working through Troy University right now. I'm taking about 6 semester hours, every two months, which I found to be very managable. That works out to 36 sh/ year, so its a pretty sweet deal. |

All universities are different. Even if you start with zero credits, you'll have the GI Bill to pay for it. It will be fine. |

Well you will be spending more then 3 years active. Most Army MOS's require a 4 year commitment, some 5.
Why not work on your degree online while in? Just a thought, but after is good too.

Soldiers are ensured that they can transfer education credits across institutions because only Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Army Degree, or SOCAD member schools, may offer undergraduate programs as part of eArmyU. |
