i fought along side south koreans (roks) in viet nam they are a fearsome fighter but we have the better technoligy and soldiers just as good.however their disipline is more pronounced then most nations |

First off remember all military units have special units that are better trained and better than average troops. South Korea is not a superpower and never has been. The USA is a superpower and has been since the Great White fleet toured the world. Our regular every day troops are not world class they are the "CLASS OF THE WORLD"! Period Dot End of Story. Iraq would be over if the freaking bleeding heart old ladies would tell the military to finish the war now, then get the hell out of the way. |

South Koreans are business people. Very good ones.
North Koreans are a slave army, one of the biggest armies in the world, incidentally.
There is no such thing as a 'normal' marine. Not really.
There are U.S. Marines, and there are British Royal Marines. Both are composed of experts in the field of warfare, both services are lethal, and if you wish to keep your country in one piece, you can count on them.
And they're the reason South Korea is a major economic power instead of a slave state like the North. |

From my experience (was only stationed there once for a year) what we lack in discipline compared to their Army (I only met and worked with Army personnel) we make up for in technology and capability. |

I don't know how much detail I'm allowed to get into, but just know that the U.S. Navy has enough firepower under the sea to blow away any and all countries if the need and threat to America were great enough. Any super marine can't withstand a trident missile shot at them precise to within the inch. Also, we (I'm a nuke in the Navy) know where nearly all other ships are in the sea while nobody can track our subs and by the time they find them it's too late. |

The US navy seals and such help train South Korean soldiers how to fight incase of North Korean invasion. While South Korea might be strong for its economic base, the US are at an entirely different level. |

last I knew the Marine Corp incorporates Martial Arts into it's Recruit training. And the Marine Recon, is one of the best there is along with our Army Rangers and Air Force OPs, Plus our Navy Seals.. This is just a small taste of what they do tho.. and there really isn't such a thing as a "normal Marine" theres a reason they are the Proud and Few. |

the USA marines are way better than south korean marines. Our marines are on average 5'8"-6' 180 -220lbs. their marines are way smaller. we could take them out in .0000000005 seconds if we wanted.
