Rock on. You have to understand that most people have not served and do not understand the military at all. But the Bush supporters are out there. Thank God Bush and company are on track with keeping our country safe and not expecting pats on the back for doing it. Honestly I am quite impressed by your convictions...I admire you already for it. Not many people are willing to try something like this you know, stand up for something. My only piece of advice (if you are willing to take it) is that before you go off and do whatever you have to do, always take in both sides of the equation to make a better informed decision. The reason why every last one of those guys cuss you down is because they see one end of the story, and they think its enough for them to stick to that end of the story. Conversely they think you are sticking to one side of the story too and they think your side is a lie. How you deal with them is up to you but dont stoop to their level (like I do). Otherwise...good luck girl...may you find what you are looking for and may the Lord Jesus keep you safe.

I'm anti-war. I AM NOT anti-American. I AM NOT against the troops. I support the troops with all my heart. They don't need to be overseas. I have not seen Fahrenheit 9/11, although I have heard it's pretty spectacular. I do understand that it's easy enough to fake PARTS of a documentary. It is NOT easy to fake everything.

Back to the fighting and anti-fighting thing. "The only reason those people have the right to say what they just said to me is because, people fought for that right to do so?" That may be true. However, we live in a different world now. I do not take my freedom of speech for granted. I understand what it's worth and what it took to get it. I also understand that we can't keep living like we still need to fight for it today. We don't. The American freedom of speech is here to stay. It isn't in danger of needing military protection any time soon.

Now, how do you know what the fighters believe in? They DON'T GET A CHOICE. If you are in the Army, and the Army goes overseas to fight Iraq and you don't want to, tough luck. I am grateful to each and every person who enters the American military, in any capacity. They are much braver people than I am. I could never bring myself to fight for some unattainable goal with force.

To die with dignity is an honorable goal. People die with dignity in their own beds, at home. I will die with dignity. You are the only one who can preserve your dignity. If you need to go overseas, fighting invisble enemies, and get killed to die with dignity, I pity you. Maybe you should think about the fight here, at home. We are fighting to end poverty, starvation, homelessness. Bring your dignity back to America. Be a hero here.

There is nothing glorious about war. Being a Vet I know first hand. First of all let's ask? Why are we fighting this war? What is it really about? Terrorism? Osama wasn't such a terrorist when we allied with him to mess with the Russians. The Bin Laden and the Bush families have been political friends(Bedfellows) for many years and were flown out of the country (One of the few flights to occur) on 9/11. Pride in the military/ solder lasts only as long as that member is in service. Go to your local VA and look at some of the Korean and Vietnam war vets. Many were and still are very proud to have served their country but ask them how the VA has treated them since. Many veterans come back from service to no home, no money and all that rah rah glory gone. Many of this countries homeless and poor are war vets. Most of the mentally ill are war vets...It is not a coincidence. War impacts you for life. You are trained to kill...You are an automaton with a gun. There is no emotion in war. It is hard for any human being, especially hard for women. Being the givers of life, it is very hard to see young children & women of any culture killed for the sake of war. The people in the streets of Iraq didn't bomb the WTC. Would you really want to be a casualty for something you didn't personally have anything to do with. I was forced to do plenty of things I personally disagreed with but it was part of the "Mission" and had to be done. Can you live with this? Was I proud to have served my country, absolutely. If I could go back in time would I do it again, absolutely not. I would've finished college.

the thing with this "war" is the American people were misled. If you remember correctly, at the beginning of the conflict, many Americans were quite supportive of Bush and his "war". The reason for this being that he kept coming on tv telling everyone that Suddam Hussein had and was ready to use weapons of mass destruction. Then he proceeded to spend 3 months or so telling the world that we were coming, thus giving Suddam plenty of time to hide not only himself, but these weapons, if he truly had them.

I think the support for the war efforts began to wane very quickly after no weapons were found, as this was the governments chief reason to invade Iraq.

After 9/11, the messeges were that we need to get Osama Bin Laden, the leader of Al Quida. Are they even still LOOKING for him????

While I have the utmost respect for most people that enter the military and serve their country, (my family has a strong military history) I feel that at the time our leadership leaves a lot to be desired.

You can fight for what you beleive is right, and still be wrong.

And i beleive you are wrong, but how can you convince someone who has already made up their mind, and refuses to even question what they beleive?

I won't go into a rash of insults.. but you are honestly the most nieve person that has lived. Have you ever heard the expression that what is won by force is lost by force? You believe that the world is better because of what America is brought us through force. Right and freedoms can also be won through negotiation and diplomancy. It doesn't take the boot of America's army to bring freedom to the world.

It's interesting that the idealist rich of america are the ones who believe that the war is essential... yet they do not send their own children to fight. The average American soldier is 18 - 20 yrs old and has less than a high school education. It's easy to convience a uneducated child that he's fighting for the right cause. What would they know better.. they have no world experience!

Any ways, who made America the police of the world? Was there an election that I missed? America is doing what they do not to free the world, but to bring themselves wealth. Gandi and mother Thereasa were also powerful forces for change in the world and they did not need any army.

America believes that they are great because they have to inorder to justify all their atrocities. It is always the victors that write history whether they are right or wrong. Look at Vietnam.... America was apparently there fighting for freedom... and what was the result of that.

Believe what you must so that you may sleep at night. But like every other aggressive country before it, America will some day be brought to it's knees... and I hope to see it soon!!!

I KNOW for sure that war never leaded to any solution or any positive thing. You can fight for your country by being a good citizen and worker. I know that the soldiers sacrifice their lives to their country and that the ultimate sacrifice. There should be other ways for politics to impose than killing innocent people around the world. The cause is not right, you don't fight "terrorism" with killing... it will NEVER end.
The war nowadays is not for independance or justice like you might think, it's for money and economy.. you said " I wanna let every man or woman out there serving for our country to know I am so very proud of them for standing up for what they believe in"..
it's a shame that we send "blind" men and women to be killed not to save their country (because politics made so many people hate USA for the wrong reasons), but to bring more money and oil to some people's pockets.

While I support the military, I would just like to bring it to your attention that they HAD NO CHOICE about going to Iraq. In fact, many who have been are against the war.

The fact that you ignore all of the lack of evidence, including Saddam was not involved with 9/11. terrorism training camps (Which Gen Powell found out were in the territories which we protected the Kurds)did not exist, nor was any Iraqi on an aircraft. Right now the government doesn't know who were on the airplanes!! Right now we don't even know whether the 9/11 Commissions report is factual! And I have read that!!

i have not read your other question, but i can see you are for the war. I believe in saving people from a dictatorship. But under the UN...we are needed to have this invasion clear,reason,evidence,and a civil arrest plan. We had none. I am not to say I don't believe in our troops, I wish they were home with us....I say prayers for them.. But they are not fighting for the people....they are fighting under a faulse reason. We have not found anything...then they say oh well, bad intelligence. I am not for this war....in the begining if it were to free the people of Iraq, then all my heart would be in it. I have family fighting there and I know for sure it isn't about the people. We had no evidence, wrong intel,,,which I don't understand...up until the minute that should have been confirmed. Fighting for what they believe in? They have to say that ....they do believe in freeing the people but, freeing people who doesn't want to be freed. They were happy when Sadaam was taken down. But soon after they wanted us out...Why? Nothing and no one to fear.We are never going to leave. Iraq with it's Oil, with no hard leadership, no goverment military, no up to date weaponary, cilvil war,they could not handle and invasion from, Iran, Syria, Eygpt or any counrty that may try....They would all perish. Why did we did not put this effort into saving those people in Africa,We did not put this effort into finding Bin-Ladin, One whom calls for Muslims around the world to kill us.One who boast on new video's on his attacks and the next ones to come.The one who killed thousands of our own people. Who are we trying to save? .We will put up Embassy's everywhere and stay and protect the Oil lines...we have no choice.Sad enough they are never going to leave....If you want to support the troops, For doing what they signed up for,Then bless you...they have no choice in the matter.Proudly enough we do have freedom of speech, but to reply to persons with vulgar language,and profanity, just shows the simple minds that some of us have. A marine featured in Fahrenheit 9/11 actually said his remarks were taken out of context making people believe he didn't support the war when he did. He went on Fox News a couple of weeks ago about it and has filed a lawsuit against the creator of the so-called "documentary". That being said, many of these people don't have friends or family that have been there and seen the good we have done, they haven't talked to people from Iraq and listened to the stories they tell about how much better their country is now. I've met people whose families fled Iraq years ago and are so grateful we are there now and have hope that they can home. These people replying to your post so negatively are close-minded and ignorant.

We have the right to say what we want because the Constitution says we can, not because we invaded Iraq.

Being against unnecessary war doesn't mean you're a conspiracy theorist. Many average citizens are puzzled about this activity in Iraq, when we were supposed to be going after the real culprit, Bin Laden. That is, we were supposed to be in Afghanistan, right? Our little side trip into Iraq has more to do with some personal agenda in the White House than getting after the people responsible for the 9/11 attacks.
