To be a Spy. What millitary branch to enter.?

There are three types of spies in the American government.
There is the counter spy, in which you join the FBI.

There is the political/code breaking spy in which you join the CIA. The majority of these are translators, people that look at spy satellite images , electronic eavesdroppers, map makers, general scientists and not really undercover type of guys (even though you will be treated as such).

Department of defense is where you become a military spy. These are generally done by SEALs and other special forces.

The military has its own stuff, each branch is a bit different. However, you won't know nor will anyone tell you what to look for. The CIA, and the NSA are places to start.

If you want to be a spy, you would need to check into the CIA or the NSA, not the military.

none they start out at the CIA. Though academics are far more important in the spy world than killing ability. They want people who are articulate and multi lingual especially in the middle eastern dialects and languages.

That depends on what you mean by "branch." For a branch of service, the Army, Navy and Air Force have intelligence branches. For career branches within the services, you would try to enter the intelligence branch for each service (e.g. for the Army, that is Military Intelligence).

Your selection not only depends upon qualification for service, but also on your aptitude, the current need of the services, and you must be able to attain a top-secret security clearance. The intelligence branches perform many more tasks than what you may think of as "spy." They gather data (which is probably the most like being a spy) as well as interpret it, compile it for use by commanders, and also they plan/perform counter-intelligence tasks and operations.

There are many non-military opportunities to become involved in the intelligence field as well.

Go CIA. First learn a language very well and fluently (Like Korean, Arabic, Farsi, Udu, etc). Earn a masters degree in something. Check the CIA website for more information.

Your best bet right now is to try and go into Naval Intelligence. What you might consider is to join the Marines (they are officially part of the Navy, although they dislike admitting it), and try to qualify for the Sniper/Scout course that the Marines offer. Snipers are the eyes and ears of their company and ofter act in the role of gathering intel in the field. After a tour as an enlisted man (sorry, the Sniper/Scout MOS is open to only men), go to college, and major in one of several fields, Computer Science (for gather ELINT or ELectronic INTelligence), languages (especially Arabic, Turkish, or Pashtun), or history (historians often provide analysis of varying situations with regards to classical desires of the groups being studied--just prepare to do a lot of statistical analysis, which means statistics, economics, and just a whole lot of mathematical modeling out the wazoo). After graduating and keeping your criminal and credit records clean, apply to the CIA (for overseas intelligence gathering), the FBI (for counter intelligence--primarily against homegrown criminals and domestic based spy rings or terrorists), the NSA (for electronic spying on hostile forces), and finally try the Dept of Energy, yeah the DOE. They run what are called NEST--Nuclear Emergency Search Teams, which search for possible atomic based threats, either here at home or to a lesser extent, in foreign lands. For this last possible arena, a degree in either physics, math, chemistry, or engineering would be required.
