Travel in the navy. HELP!!?

Ok. so maybe u can help, this would be my ideal scenario.

I want to work on a ship. i want to visit many ports of call all around the world. it dont matter where im stationed. ive heard that a carrier will be less likeley to pull into a port than smaller ships.
do frigates or other smaller ships carry planes also or just carriers.
what job can i pick so i can be aboard a frigate, or cruiser or other ship (smaller than a carrier) because i want to be able to experience other countries ports and actually have time to explore, i dont want to be stuck in a ship for at sea for months without ever seeing different places, or be stuck at my home port and sea and the come back. i wanna travel.
Also what is your home port? i mean do u get to live in another country for a few months? or for years? or only in the us? do u get to choose where u want your home port to be?

well what you should do is not enlist to just help around the ship (that's the worst job ever) you should go to collage and become and officer and try to be a naval pilot. flying is the funnest thing ever. you get launched off the carrier and it's basically a roller coaster that you control, and those frigates are there to protect the carrier which in this day in age is kind of boring cause we don't need gun ships right now. if you fly people respect you more and you pull into ports all over the world. my dads a navy pilot and he's been all over asia, and thanks to him I got to travel to spain, Germany, england, turkey, france, austria, switzerland, ireland, and a bunch of other places at the age of 14! and this summer I'm moving to Amsterdam in the Netherlands!! so I HIGHLY recommend being a navy pilot NOT an air force one

port calls will vary in scope, duration and location. everybody has room for at least a helicopter.

some ports you cannot leave the ship. others you cannot leave the pier. and you will be standing duty at least once during a port call.

the Navy isn't your own personal travel agency. you will be expected to WORK, not play . you can go months without pulling into a port...Liberty or otherwise. you can get gas and groceries and mail delivered while underway.

Carrier duty is the best duty in the Navy , then i spent 2 years on one so might be bias in my answer.
best food , best accommodations, best off duty recreation aboard ship. more room more people and as far as port of call just as good as small ships. As carriers are part of a task force other ships travel with them as part of screen and as plane guards .
Naval Air is great duty also.

Good thinking ahead of time I say. Maybe an LPH or LPD which carry helicopters might be the right one for you. They are considered troop carriers and the Marines can go do excersises with numerous countries during a cruise. Not sure if you can get yourself assigned to one as an incentive right off the bat but look into jobs with your recruiter that will likely put you in that path to board one. Good luck!
