As American's How would you feel if Obama gave control of the U.S. Marines to the U.N. or for that matter any branch of the armed services ?
It almost happened under Clinton Administration.
And members of the Armed forces would you takes orders from non-American commanders ?

As a Marine or any service branch, if your Commander-in-Chief orders you to be detached and serve under the UN, then its your duty to do so. But, you do not have to obey any orders that contradict your sworn oath to SUPPORT and DEFEND the Constitution of the United States.If it needs defending, defend it you must. |

If our military members are part of international forces the top commander may not be American. Of course every country that participates agrees to that...not just the US. And, no, that doesn't mean an entire branch of the US military is under UN control. |

Obama, or any U.S. President can't do that.
It is very specific who the military can take orders from. Once in the past, I took military orders from an RAF officer.
When Eisenhower was in charge of the
European theater of WWII, I am sure non-Americans took orders from him. |

That already happens.
The Commander of NORAD rotates between a US and Canadian General officer.
The Commander of Forces in Afghanistan, has already been a US General and a British General.
So some US forces in Afghanistan have already been under the command of a foreign officer.
It is not a big deal.
NATO always had it where some US forces would be under the command of other countries generals. |

Heaven forbid it! I wouldn't do a damn thing for those pedophiliac-scandalists any support from my Marines. But unfortunately, I have no choice in the matter. Like DC says: what the Cmmdr-in-Chief demands, we willing to abide..only on terms that it is ethical. |

If you were ordered to as a Marine, then you would have to. But your duty would be to your country first..
Also, there'd be some (as in all of them) VERY p*ssed off Marines and that would not be pretty. .
An entire branch would not be placed under control of the UN or any foreign command. |
