US Marine Corps Pride?

US Marine Corps Pride?

Being a Marine seems to be a thing that Marines take a great amount of pride in. Do you think that Marines who are not in direct combat roles (like Infantry) are less of Marines and have less right to boast about being a Marine?

There seems to be alot of hate between combat Marines and POGs (Personnel Orther than Grunt) aka Fobbits

I'm not talking about POGs / Fobbits that lie and say they saw combat or act like they were in such danger when they never left the base.

A Marine is still a Marine, if he goes through the boot camp training, the MOS training. He still comes out a Marine. Sempre Fi

I'm a 64-year old woman who was a Marine Corps officer during the VietNam war. I've never seen combat, never fired a weapon, never had anyone shoot at me, but all of the Marine Corps combat veterans I've ever met have treated me just like any other Marine Corps veteran who served honorably. I'm proud of my service. I did something many men my age (including a former US president) refused to do. I'm proud of the men and women with whom I served and am just as proud of those who have served after me.

As Gen "Chesty" Puller said...
Olde Breed...New Breed...
It doesn't Matter as long as its Marine Breed...

Every Marine is part of a Larger Team...
Any member of that Team Breaks Down...
No matter what the Job is...the Whole Team Breaks Down...
I don't care if its an Office Pog in Supply ordering
more Ammo...or the Truck Driver bringing it to the "Grunts"...
Because without them the "Grunt Can't get the "Mission Accomplished"...

Bet this argument has been going on since the
First Marine was shooting from the rigging...LMAO

Never heard Fobbits before...
We always called them "Wannabes" and there
sure are a lot of them in High places today...

Semper Fi !!!

Any Marine is a Marine and entitled to their pride and opinion.

Pride is a sin and it is weakness. There is a cult of marines in the US. Knowing Russian military history it's just funny to see marines proud. Of what? Just compare. Yes, US marines defeated some pirates in Algeria. Good. But mostly US marines dealt with weaker enemies, much weaker. And often managed to loose even to them like in Korea. And Russian military is used to defeating stronger enemies.

I remember that we were allies in WW2 and modern Russian army has smth to learn from US marines. But anyway, there's nothing to be proud of.

@Vladimir. Do a little more research into our beloved Corps. Look into the Frozen Chosin. Look into Iwo Jima. Do some research on Fallujah. How about Vietnam? There's a reason the Germans call us Devil Dogs. Good on Russia for attempting to take.... who? Afghanistan? Without success? Have a good day. Semper Fidelis.
