USA vs Russia in War?Winner?

Russia would win at this point. They don't mind fighting, as we apparently do, and they understand that war involves killing people. While we're busy, trying to win without hurting them, they're laying on our slaughter.

It doesn't matter how big, fast, or powerful our military is, if they're not allowed to do what they here to do.

USA Navy/air force is to advanced for Russia to make a land invasion, however the USA cant invade Russia cause the Russian army is simply to big and most likely China would ally with Russia as well, if China AND russia allied aganist the USA, USA would probably lose.and in the event of an invasion conscription would run wild. Russia would out-number the USA easily

The russian military is a shadow of its former organization. At the moment they would be hard pressed to fight outside their borders on any reasonable scale. This could change but for the next few years they will be pressed to handle domestic issues and border security.

Russia. They, unlike the USA, never gave up on chemical and biological weapons. All they have to do is let one loose in the USA and that will pretty well take care of the USA.

If no WMDs of any kind, neither could successfully invade and take over the other. The supply line for both would be way too long and too easy to disrupt. Also to subdue a nation with the population levels of the USA and Russia you would have to land a 10 million man army at the very least.

If you are taking about just being able to render the other unable to have any military power to enforce their views, both are on the downhill slide. The USSR fell apart and so did their army and navy. They just now are starting to act like they might rebuild. The USA has let its armed forces go to pot. The average age of the USAF planes is 25 years old with some 40+ years old. The tankers, B52s and F15 are falling apart in the air. About half of the relatively new B1 bombers are in storage. The F117 has already been retired and they are not going to get near as many F22s as they want. The US Navy is retiring 10 ships a year and building only 5 new ones. It is as small now as it was in 1917, with less than 300 ships.

China on the other hand is building 10 new state-of-the-art warships each year. It is also working on its first aircraft carrier. By 2020 the Chinese Navy will be larger and more modern than the US Navy. The incidents in the South China Sea are examples of China testing the US Navy to see how the US Navy will react. They think, and I agree, that the US Navy will retreat in the end, letting the Chinese know we will not challenge them.
