Marine boot does brain wash you a bit. It took me 6 months to stop saying sir to everyone longer still to stop downing food in minutes.

That's rich...A British vet commenting on the U S MC. He's not asking about the Royal Marines. It does not effect the way you think, you will be more decisive. But the Corp does not want automatons, it wants good leaders.

I've talked with vets, and it just depends on your personality. Some people break down when the see a friend die beside them. Others get ticked and want to kill something. Still some say "Aww damn it" and get on with their life. It just depends on who you are. The training will definitely toughen up every single person who goes through it though. |

You wont think anymore, you will react to orders and situations.
Edit: To the chief below, military is military, you do what you are told 100% of the time, if you dont someone either shouts at you, threatens violence or in a few cases violence takes place, this maybe different in the US military but was just telling you how my military life changed me, in my experience every time you tried to show independent thought someone told you to shut up, thats the chain of command you shut up and take orders, sorry for even commenting this will be my last time commenting on military matters. |
