I want to become a Marine, but I heard there were points like if you get somewhere at 300 you're a marksman?can someone help me out with this? also, I have bad vision, not really bad, but not a full 20/20, and I wear my glasses everyday, but can you wear glasses on the battlefield? please help me.

Sorry if it is, I ment sniper, I was really stressed when I was typing this.

15 shots from 200yds, slow fire, 5 sitting, 5 kneeling, 5 offhand
10 shots from 200 yds, rapid fire, sitting
5 shots from 300 yds, slow fire, prone
10 shots from 300 yds, rapid fire, prone
10 from 500 yds, slow fire, prone
Or did they change rifle qual since I was in? |

yes you will be prescribed glasses that if you get deployed, you will be allowed to wear.

1st off every Marine is a Marksmen. You cant be a Marine if your not a marksmen. Yes you can wear glasses in combat. You just cant be a Sniper or anything that requiers you to have 20/20 vision |

Ok well ill help as best i can (DEP for Marines at the moment.) The points is for the rifle range while your in. You will be trying to get the high score in shooting your weapon at 200, 300 and 500 yards. Scores for marksman range from 250-279, 280-304 for sharpshooter, and 305-350 for expert. if you fail the shooting course you will be dropped to 250 and given the pizza box.The higher score you get the better off down the road it will help towards your cutting score for promotion when you hit Corporal an up. Next in boot camp you will be issued BC's (birth control glasses, you arent gonna get any when you wear these). they are glasses for you to help you see, no one wants a blind recruit on the rifle range. Also once you grad boot you will be prescribed glasses just like before you were in and during boot. if you go into combat im sure they would let you have them again, who wants a blind Marine shooting?
