Usmc and college...........???????...

Parents want me to go to college first I want to do marines first any ideas on that.... And if I do the marines can I still take college classes if I was in the infantry???

great help still want to do Marines first but i was doing some research and does anyone know what the Marine Corps Univercity(MCU) is?? im not sure if its a college like West Point were you go but you do Marine Corps training at the same time or what so if anyone has any info please answer.

So why not enlist in the Marine Corps reserve and go to college ?

That way, you can see what the Marines are all about and get your college education.

marines first since they will give you a full blown scholarship after you serve which is awesome.. they have classes on the base for certain majors but not all..

I was in the Navy for 4 years. Take it from me, I had a great time when I was in as an enlisted man. If I could do it all over, I would have went to college first and joined as an officer.

That way after you get out, you really have something to fall back on.

Go to one of those Marine schools where you're training and learning at the same time.

go to college and join the rotc program then become an officer in the marines thats what im going to do

I'm in a similar situation. My parents want me to go to college, I wanted to join the Army. So we compromised. I joined the Army Reserves while I attend college. They give me tuition and cost of living payments for as long as i'm enrolled in school. i plan on doing the Army ROTC program at the college I'm attending. I don't think there are reserve marines, but you could at least get boot camp out of the way and time under your belt. And no, you can't do infantry and college at the same time. If you're in the infantry, you'll likely be living on a base or in a foreign country, making it rather difficult to attend college classes.
