It depends on what exactly it is that we are fighting to preserve. If we are taking up arms to defend a stimulus package, the department of housing and urban development, subsidies for farmers and professional sports team owner's stadiums, etc. then NO I would not fight in a war.
Conversely however, if we were fighting to preserve Individual Freedom and Liberty, then without question I'd be on the front lines in a New York minute.
Patriotism is not fighting to defend a country. Patriotism is about fighting to preserve an ideal that the country represents (FREEDOM and LIBERTY). I think we're losing that principle somewhere along the way here. |

I can't imagine many sane people that would actually WANT to go to war. It is a necessary evil that we must endure sometimes, but no one should ever want to.

I wouldn't mind o.O life is 20 years of sitting at a desk listening to someone, 40 years of working and 20-30 more years of rotting. For this reason i'd think of myself as a warmonger as I'd probably jump in at the opportunity of a war. Only thing that's holding me back tbh are my parents
they say life is too short, but if its just 20 years of learning, 40 years of working and 30 years of rotting, id rather cut it even shorter and jump in for some adventure |
