War, what is it good for?

I think it is good for getting rid of your enemies, killing those who are trying to kill you and protecting your citizens. I am not for killing unnecessarily, but if it comes down to kill or be killed, we need to protect ourselves.

War is good for killing people and breaking things. The point to Afghanistan is to keep the clowns that supported the attacks(Taliban) from regaining power. You can't have a problem with that can you? And the iraq thing is basically a distraction to draw extremists out to fight in the streets of baghdad rather than the streets of say California, or New York.

If America didn't fight in WWII then we would be under Nazi rule - if America doesn't fight these crazy Muslims - you will be subject to Islamic law (if you're not a Muslim thy can kill you for being an infidel) saying that war is good for nothing shows how little you know of the real world

In this instance, is just for survival!! This enemy is the first one to have the sole purpose of killing off western civilized people, not just defeating them. And are commanded to do it by the sword.

You're right, war is good for nothing, except keeping you free so you can ask questions like this. This is not a matter of being politically informed, it is a matter of common sense. They, the terrorists, want to kill you. They do not care how nice you are, how smart you are, nor how politically astute you are. You are not their kind of muslim, your facial hair is not long enough, you do not sacrifice enough of your sons to the cause and you know what? They don't want to talk to you about it or hear your opinion.

Alot will be achieved if we finish the job. Serious criminals have been caught, and more will be caught. Im glad we're over there. Someones got to get these people back on the right foot, and it just happens to be us thats gonna help them.

war is meaningless unless you give it meaning! if you are fighting for freedom so everyone wont be afraid to protest. fighting for your childrens' saftey so when they go to school they wont get bombed.

my opinion is that war is good for getting rid of the people who mean to do harm to our families, friends and country for no good reason.

The war in Iraq is pointless! My husband agrees with me as well...(he also works in the military). There are a lot of soldiers that don't agree with this war as well so your not the only one that thinks that way. I just pray to God that they pull the troops out ASAP. Enough people have died in this pointless war! We don't need more dead people...

It is good for the rich as they get richer, it is good for the economy because we have to feed the war machine. But unfortunately it is in no way good for living things. To much death and destruction to do any good that comes out of it.
