To me, hitler was smart, intelligent, and a great military leader. I think he could of created a aryan race, if his allie muzzolini didnt mess up.
To every of my history teacher, they say hitler was a brillant man, i think this to.
although he was brillant, he was crazy, his body twitched ever since the beginning of the war, and disallowed pictures to be taken of him, but only his head was allowed to take pictures, but later his eyes twitched like his rest of his body. His crazyness brang about the holocaust tho so i dunno.
its your opinion of the greatest leader if u take different view points.
military genius or bringer of the holocaust
is this ur essay question or something? |

Yes he was a good leader .... until Germany was utterly destroyed . Don't forget that he had strong supporters and alone he would have ended just a poor painter. |

Sure he got a lot of people to follow him, so I guess if that makes him great... But he was an evil piece of s h i t. I don't think murdering millions of innocent people makes you great. P.S. Holocaust. |

The Holocaust was NOT a misunderstanding. People are trying to re-write history and say that the Holocaust never happened. You only have to talk to someone who was in any of the death camps to know that it was very real.
Hitler was one of the most evil men ever. He was not a great leader.
Just typing this answer has made me angry about the lie you are helping to spread. |

OK, my opinion about Hitler. His mistake and downfall-%100 the drugs he was addicted to. He really got that country on it's feet. He broke ground on what is known as the Autobond(Idon't know if that's how it's spelled). He is also the creater of the Volkswagon or "People's Car" But the drugs make people do crazy things. |

Obviously not. . .he didn't win. Guess that would make Franklin Delano Roosevelt, & Winston Churchill the greatest leaders of the 20th Century. |

No, he was actually one of the worst leaders in human history. Your mocking of the holocaust is no where near funny, it's very ignorant in fact. |

I don't think you should insult Hitler by calling the Holocaust a misunderstanding. |

well since he coerced not only his populous but many others, left his country in economic ruin, destroyed its industrial capacity, rendered its military inconsequential for decades, and left an enormous stigma on the German people worldwide I'd say.... No. |

First of all let's clear up one problem with your statement; the Holocaust was not just a MISUNDERSTANDING...it was complete and total genocide...where do you get off saying such a foolish thing to begin with?
Secondly, when Hitler came to power in 1933, he did a lot of good for Germany...this is not in issue..he did manage to rebuild the infrastructure of Germany after World War I; but he became overly obsessed by his power and was a charismatic speaker... he ruled by fear and intimidation.
In so far as Hitler being the greatest leader of the 20th century, I will have to take issue with this statement. There are others that deserve that title and he is not on the list.... |

The Holocaust was NO 'misunderstanding', but it has to be agreed that as far as leadership quality goes, Hitler was definitely one of the best. Since you can't judge leadership on the morals of a leader but how well he leads, he very well could be the best. Hitler convinced a country to kill a few million people based on what made them different, he took an independent party to full parliamentary majority, and could have taken over all of Eurasia, except for the whole Russia in winter thing, and the fact that the Allies pwnd him.
What works against him is that he had little staying power; if Hitler had won the war and not been completely mentally unstable it's possible he would have ruled until a natural death. As it was, however, he left Germany unable to fend for herself without him, once the war ended. |

What about Queen Elizabeth the second? She is the head of state of the British Commonwealth. She has been a leader for almost half of the 20th century so obviously she has some experience. Hitler shot himself the Queen still reigns, God Save the Queen! |
