Going by quality of equipment alone, and not military strength, I'd say it's a tie between the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. All four have home-grown, state of the art military equipment, are totally self-sufficient in their military equipment needs, and are large exporters of military materiel.

I would say that if I was out fitting an army what equipment would i buy. I would buy the new french le clerc tank it is cheaper lighter and less of a gas hog and is electronically smarter than any other tank in service and is designed with upgradeable armor. all this means I would have this vehicle far into the future upgrading to meet new threats. I would also buy most of my Equipment from France including fighters and support aircraft They are newer than Brit and US aircraft and cheaper and just as capable. When it comes to missiles I would choose the US I have to give them there due especially fire and forget missiles like hellfire and tomahawk. I'd also buy sky flash and matra magic. So I would say US is best for equipment but there are just as good runner ups in other countries but it should be noted that having the best means the most expensive and that means fewer on hand to fight with so sometimes it's better to go with second rate if you can get alot of them and then overwhelm your opponent's better equipment as happened to Germany in ww2 toooooo many shermans not enough tigers.

I'm sorry that I don't have the time to do a little research to give you the best possible answer, but here is a link to Jane's Defence. These guys evaluate militaries and military equipment from all over the world. You can probably get an accurate oppinion free from blatant patriotic bias from them.

Most would say USA has the best. but some of the best ideals come from eroupe, then is designed by america. I can't say for sure USA has the best. For instance the best protection has not been used in IRAQ for our armed forces. The humvee's we are using could be strengthen a lot more than they are.
But we are a country that learn from wars like these. You can be sure that from this conflict there will be greater and better equiptment for protection and or defense/attack, in the near future.

The U.S.A. has weapons which are so much better than the rest of the world it is an unfair fight. Stealth technology, smart bombs, satellite coverage of the earth with pictures, nuclear weapons all make us a tough opponent.
On the down-side of this...our people rely on the military and police to protect them and neglect to become able to defend themselves. This leave us wide open to embedded hostils storing arms in places our authorities won't search (Mosques) because the ACLU is "protecting liberty". Gun-control idiots want everyone disarmed at a time when we need to be prepared to stop internal invasion.
(To those of you tempted to let me know that I am a right wing, conservative, Christian, gun-toting nut: I already know it!)

USA-hands down. I got issued Oakley sunglasses, a Gerber Tool, and a Benchmade knife (and didn't have to turn them in-some units that got that issue did). What other country issues their troops Oakleys, Gerbers, and Benchmades? I haven't come across any. Take a look at the GSA catalog and see all the crazy stuff we can get our grubby paws on, especially downrange.
And, this is not to be patriotic or biased as another puts it. Janes Defense does not do a good job of "evaluating" military equipment. Troops on the ground that use it do. I run into Brits, Aussies, Canucks, Germans, Dutch, Italians, Thais, Philippinos, Hondurans, Mexicans, French Foreign Legionnaires, etc. USA-hands down.

Ok Datkaaa For one, whether you like America or not, I dont care. I dont dislike Russia, Russian people, Chinese People or any people. I have great respect for other cultures in this world. Because when the sun goes down we live on the same planet and when losers finally understand that the world will be a better place and we can focus our aggression on interstellar adversaries instead of ourselves.. LOL.. . But anyway all joking aside your assertion that Russia, which is equivalent to 1970s US when it comes to military technology is no match when it comes to Military equipment and the US. So all stupidity aside lets be real here. Isreal has better military equipment than Russia? Why because they get it from the US.. Thats why.
