~Why was I part of a 1% minority asking this question 5 years ago, before the troops went in in the first place? What, has it finally occurred to folks that US troops might die if we start a war? Have people finally looked into history and and socialology and learned that such a war cannot be won ? Have people come to their senses and realized the invasion was immoral and illegal under international law? (I doubt it. The new-found opposition is based on bady bags only.)
Your questions come way too late, and the massive support expressed at the start is now paying the dividends that the investment so richly deserves.
By the way, do you support our continuing presence in Afghanistan, or did you forget about that one. Remember your questions when we get ready to move on Korea or Iran.
And when the troops do come home, the Patriot Act will still be on the books. |

Well, if you consider the fact that we still have infantry troops in Korea, and this is 53 years after the cease fire, I'd say you're getting a little antsy. What say you???? |

I say, the States can do whatever the hell they want with Iraq. Just don't send Canadians there to clean up the mess they made like they did in Afghanistan!
Americans in Iraq should've come home before they left in the first place. That war is illegal and unethical. |

they should be out but that is a tricky situation. whenever they are due to come home they find themselves in a firefight or even held hostage. they must stay to fight and finish |

I think it is time for the soldiers to come home!
I have a friend that has been gone to Iraq for nearly 2 years now! I am ready to see him! I e-mail him regularly and it always seem that he is good spirits! He was home for a short period last May! |

I'm afraid they will be over there for years and years. Once the US gets involved in other countries' politics, it is very difficult to get out. Even two years ago when my husband was there, they were not doing anything of any real substance so I would imagine it's even worse now. |

they should have never gone! |

Right now they are teaching the Iraqi soldiers how to be better soldiers, and trying to route out the insurgents.
They'll come home when the Iraqis can "do it for themselves."
No, they are not overdue for home. There was never an exit date, there still is not an exit date.
We are still in Germany, Korea, Viet Nam, Somalia. We will be in Iraq for many years too. |

Yes I agree I think that our soldiers should have been long gone out of Iraq. |

They are stopping terorism from coming here to the good ole USA and it's not time for them to come home Yet. Maybe, you should go over and help them out. |

They never should have been there to begin with. Look at your newspaper, there is not a lot on the war in it anymore. I just watched "Baghdad ER" on HBO. Every American should see this. It is the real deal, you saw amputations, lots of blood and the most caring and skilled ER staff ever. Bring the Troops Home NOW!!! |

since alot of the soldiers stationed in Iraq are using there computers to join th Confederate Legion that might tell you a little something about what they think! The Confederate legion accepts all races and religions to rid our southern nation of the oppression, persicution, and humiliation coming from Washington!!! |

they are training, stabilizing, and ensuring that when they leave they dont have to go back and do it again. i wish they were all home and yes they have been their too long. but my opinion is biased because my guy is scheduled to deploy there for the 2nd time and i pray all the time that some sudden change will happen and prevent that. |

They should never have been there in the first place. They are there because of the Texas Cartel and Daddy Bush's oil rights which are in both Iraq and Kuwait. Our troops are wonderful, brave young men and women but they should not be there at all. Afghanistan yes, Iraq no... |

My son is coming home from Iraq for some "r&r" next month before he goes back to complete his second tour over there. I feel so proud of him that if he wanted to re-up for another tour, I'd proudly support him, and as long as they need to stay over there to protect the peace and rebuild that ugly place, more power to them, literally and physically. |

Do we have an elected government in control of Iraq right now? No we don't. They government is almost formed but they will not have complete control for some time, so we have to stay and finish the job, less some other dictator type come along and start murdering people again. |

So long as some holed up terrorist is still bent on wrecking havoc on the innocent, there is no time frame for the soldiers, not till the cowardly evil Bin Laden and his band of maniac bomb strapping jihadists are not strung up or quatered, the fight goes on. |

The Bush Administration made it sound as if the Iraqi's would take over as soon as Saddam was taken out. So yes, they should be home. All of the other reasons given by the Bush Administration like WMD's were proven to not have merrit, which I think were just reasons to keep our troops there ... yes, our soldiers should have come home a long time ago. (I have no idea why we are still there.)
May God Bless You |
