Myself and some other Military wives collect items to send to the troops, and the following list is what they request the most.
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Hard candy (Chocolate melts before it even gets to them!)
Razors
Shaving Cream
Dental floss
Deodorant
Socks
Shampoo/Conditioner
Gum (Gum is a huge "Want" from the troops!)
Envelopes/Paper
Soap
I know some of this stuff probably isn't what you had in mind for your boyfriend's care package, but they tell us stuff like toothbrushes are a pretty big deal to get. We have also sent homemade and store bought cookies because they don't melt or make a mess during shipping.
I hope this helps a bit. |

Hmm I went to my husband with this question...He's a Ssgt in the USMC he said, baby wipes for the days you can't shower, foot powder, magazines, cd's and/or cd player, word puzzles like crosswords and stuff like that and non melting candy...it's hot over there and it turns into a big goopy mess. Also just cards and nice letters he needs your love and support and even though it may take a while for you to get stuff in return keep sending him stuff....he'll really apprciate it ;) Hope this helps and stay strong during the deployment. |

They love to get potato chips and tortilla chips over there, and bake him some cookies and stuff. Don't send chocolate candy because it will melt. If he likes candy send him some gummy worms and stuff like that. TP, deodorant, any personal hygiene stuff is good, except that which leaks (after shave, cologne, etc.) and nothing aerosol. Put together a little photo album with pictures of you, his family and his friends. Go around snapping their pics and also have them write little messages to him. And this is really neat, get a journal. Write to him in it, then ask him to write back to you in it and send it back, then you do it again, you can even tape in pictures or articles. Send it back and forth the rest of the time he is there and when he returns you will both have a nice keepsake to share. |

Toiletries, books,CD's, DVD's (if he has a player) mixed nuts,
anything that won't melt or spoil. Home baked cookies wrapped tightly(so they won't crumble) are a favorite. |

Have his friends and family, and you write small notes to him then stick them in unsuspecting items in the package(like a love note in the toothpaste box). Put the notes into places that he will open at different times so that he finds them unexpectedly and remembers that he is loved and being thought of at home. |

Send him some LOVE lol, write about 30 letters of things you would like to say to him to encourage him, and then tell him to open only one every day. It will be very encouraging to him, and he will feel closer than ever to you... also send some non-perishable food items, I'm sure it gets old eating the same stuff over and over again. And pictures are nice to send as well...
An Inspirational book would be good too, go to www.lifeway.com and click on family, there are lots of great books on there.
You should also get him a comedy book, something that would really make him laugh. Laughter is the best medicine. |

Toiletries are the most requested item from my brother who is in Iraq right now. DO NOT send anything that can melt, bc it's hotter than @#$#%$# in Iraq. Daytime temp is hovering 150 degrees Fahrenheit, I kid you not. Does you’re the guy exercise? He may need gym shorts. Family pictures would be greatly appreciated, too.
Btw, Ber, I thank your bf for serving/fighting for our country. I appreciate it. |
