What are some pros and cons about joining the army.?

pro: you are serving in the military, that's freakin awesome

con: usually army people get stationed to live in the middle of nowhere, where as navy people are stationed in more mainstream areas along coastlines.

I can tell you the pros and cons of joining the Navy. nikke.reese@yahoo.com I would suggest joining the Navy before the Army. They have more programs and tons more money to spend on you than the Army.

I was military, your pros as a female are this: more than likely a bonus, discipline, medical, dental, and vision benefits, a steady paycheck every 2 weeks, housing, food, and to know that all your resources that you would have to travel all over town are available for you on one little base..worldwide travel, possibility of taking your family with you..and serving your country..
the CONS: going to Iraq, always having to answer to SOMEONE, RULES, RULES AND MORE RULES, not being able to live like you would as a civilian-like you do now, having to always stay in shape, did I mention Iraq, most branches will you tell you that the military did not issue your family in your -navy-seabag, if you are a single parent-having to give up custody of your child, not always be able to keep in contact with your family, having to make entirely new friends, having to never feel like you are in control of your life and your destiny, NEVER REALLY KNOWING EXACTLY WHERE you will be in 2-4 years...except maybe being out of the military...and always living under a microscope, because if you dont live, act, behave, or talk right you can always go before a "judge", captain, jury, or your superiors and have your entire career, life, and everything you worked for and sacrificed taken away...

Pro:...Nice people, Educated people, a Paycheck every two weeks. Steady job. Respect, Never homeless, Get to travel....30 days Vacation every year.......Cons:....You can be killed. Treated like Crap by supervisors, Not always able to live with family. Told what to do and when to do it. No freedom like the civilian population. So how is this for a list?

pros, job security, good retirement, fairly easy unless you have to before mentioned duty..........

Con: There is a war going on. Away from family and friends. But not too bad for 4 years or so.

well you grow up fast in the army, meaning alot of discipline but it helps you grow as a person, you can see the world, meet some otherwise interesting people, education and benefits are not bad, the war and some military BS makes it hard, plus you are away from family and friends which makes it hard. go national guard if you don't want to be away, trust me the war will end

pros:shoot at people, government has your back on most anything, and you protect our nation.

cons:you get shot at, makes for a rough homelife, and you miss your family dearly.

pros: a job-do you have one? health benefits- do you have any? money for college- again, do you have any? good training(sometimes) and experience- can you show any? cons: time away from home(if you're married), and death(war-which even the reserves are fighting now or worse, tons of dumb accidents happen all the time.
