All Army aviation is rotary wing for operational purposes.
There is a VERY small segment of fixed wing Army pilots that fly non-combatant aircraft around. Mostly, this is a taxi service for Generals and Congress-critters.
There is a half century old deal with the Air Force (former Army Air Corps) that fixed wing operational assets belong to the Air Force, ground assets belong to the Army. (Minor trivia note: this deal had plenty of shake out in the 1950s as to where National Guard Air Defense units would go...they eventually ended up in the Army camp.)
If you are Army aviation, you should consider your limitations to be large transport rotary wing (chinooks), utility rotary wing (blackhawks), or gun ships (apaches). |

99% of aviators in the Army fly one of 4 aircraft: OH-58 Kiowa, AH-64 Apache Longbow, UH-60 Blackhawk, and the CH-47 Chinook.
The remaining aviators fly fixed wing turbo prop aircraft, mainly for Army VIP's.
You can go in as either a Warrant Offficer, or a Commissioned Officer and still have the same options open to you, though the routes to get each differ. |

While the Army uses mainly helicopters, they also have some transport aircraft.. Besides being a pilot, there are Maintenance Officer positions for engine mechanics, airframe mechanics, ordinance, electronics and logistics. |
