What are the requerment of joining the airforce?

I want to work on airplanes for a main job, so I want to join the air force to help me in that subject.
Also I just had knee surgery, are the air force strict about that kinda thing?
Additional Details
My knee sugery was a Athroscopy and right now it seems fine.

USMC has planes too!

Does the knee affect your physical abilities at all? Can you meet the physical requirements? Are you at risk for more/ greater injuries? Will you have to have more surgery in the future?

If you respond negatively to any of these questions then there is a possiblity of being ineligible, but talk to a recruiter anyway.

If you can fulfill all Physical training requirements you are fine. I am a jet engine mechanic and love it. You will have to state that you have had knee surgery prior to military. SO when you get out they won't have to pay you disability if the same knee is screwed up when you get out.

Could be a problem with the knee. You could talk to a recruiter and see if you could get a waiver.
