I don't know if you read up on other governments, but almost every big government does this. I would like to know how we invaded Iraq illegally. If we have a reasonable amount of info to do it, we do it. I must admit there were obviously no WMD found, but we liberated a country. There isn't a chance if the world uniting against the US. Personally, Bush annoys the crap out of me but what he is doing is not terrorism. |

for starters, all illegal aliens, legal immigrants and those thinking of becoming either, can go back to the countries they came from, or stay in their OWN countries, and then launch MASSIVE protests against the brutality of AMERICA!
Be sure to refuse our financial aid the next time you have a TSUNAMI, or earthquake, or disease epidemic, as it will hurt our feelings if you do, and since we only offer it as a way to edge our way into vulnerable countries, you would be fouling up an otherwise foolproof scheme.

Yeah. Our Government does a lotta crap. I don't know if the rest of the world will try and confront us in any meaningful/consequential way.
Hopefully Obama will win in November.
Thank god Bush is leaving. It's hilarious to me people on this board bring up 9/11 as proof WE aren't terrorists . Yes, 9/11 was awful and no country deserves its citizens slaughtered, but just because terrorism has happen to America how does that equal "America does no wrong to the rest of the world?" That is the crappiest logic/argument. |

A few U.S. soldiers tortured Iraqi soldiers in a misguided attempt at revenge but P.O.W's are taken very good care of. The P.O.W.S at Guantanamo bay are taken care of way better than low class citizens. They are feed, clothed, given very expensive medical and dental care, and these guys are no better than your run of the mill killers.
Unfortunately there is factions of every gov that does the thing you mentioned but unless they're a physically caught there's not much you can do.
Although I do not agree with our continued presence in Iraq I do believe 100% that invading Irqs had to be done. Sadam had been killing the people of Iraq by the thousands and the death toll incured under his regime ranks in the millions.
Think of that death toll before you say invading was wrong. How could we not be behind taking out Sadam. Although I don't think that was really why bush decided to invade but it gave him and excuse along with Iraq supposedly having nukes even though nukes were never found ( although there was all the parts to make nukes). |

Getting rid of George Bush would go a long way towards solving the problem. Bush has this stupid Idea that he and he alone in the Savior of the World and only HE knows what is best for everyone else. This is indeed a MAJOR problem and has caused a general increase in the overall level of hatred for the US worldwide.
One can only hope that McCain does not get elected President in November because he will be a mere extension of George Bush and has said he would keep the US in Iraq for 100 years.
It is amazing to me where these idiots get the notion that the US has to intervene in the affairs of other countries. This is NOT one of the principles upon which the US was founded, and the whole purpose of the country has been hijacked by decades of interventionist fools. |

Maybe economics is the root of it all. The people in the US providing wealth for the military and government are denied a fair and balanced media here in the US. If more documentaries or foreign news programs gained access to American eyes, we might not so easily support our Congress's actions. Set up a foreign news service site specifically for Americans. Maybe make it a multicountry foreign news service so the Americans don't have to search. |
