A quick fast person. Swift and can turn on a dime and use potential spin as a way to increase swing speed. Short. What weapon would be ideal for a person like this?

History doesn't lie. The sword is best for speed attack. For what you describe, various types of long sword would be best.
Until armored units became the core of the military, cavalry still used the sword extensively. Like the US army "long knives" vs various Indian tribes.
Keep in mind though that a long sword is not as effective for very close-quarter combat, or line combat, or against opponents with significant armor or shielding. It is quicker to use the point, and for that, a shorter sword designed and balanced for stabbing is better. It is harder to defend against a stab than a slash, and a stab is more effective at breaking through armor too.
If you aren't into carrying a sword, a knife is a good substitute, but again, it's not a swinging weapon so much.
since you say you want a short weapon, maybe nunchaku would fit. Nothing spins as fast as those.
btw are you out to kill somebody or what? Use any of those weapons in almost any context and they'll throw you in the joint for life. Even self-defense. You wouldn't be able to claim "self-defense" if you're walking around with a long sword, or a stiletto knife, or nunchuks. |
