What could the gemans have done differently to with the war ?

The Battle of the Bulge was a side-show compared to the epic struggles on the eastern Front, but that's another discussion.

These are just some items that come to mind re: your question:

1. Full scale efforts to experiment with 'heavy water' thus leading to a nuclear device.

2. Not allow the BEF to escape from Dunkirk.

3. Start Operatioun Barbarossa in May of 1941 (in order to beat the Russian winter of that year.)

4. Focus on one or two tank designs, eg. Panther and King Tiger, rather than dilute the resources with multiple designs.

5. Give Rommel at least 4 or 5 more divisions to his Africa Corps, in order to complete the invasion of Egypt and open the middle east oil fields.

6. After the invasion of Russia, allow the conquered countries into the german fold, rather than view them as sub-human. Initially, many thought the germans were liberators against Stalin's iron rule.

7. Rather than divert Panzers in the fall/winter of 1941 to encircle Kiev, keep the pressure on Moscow.

8. The biggest blunder, leave Stalingrad, and use mobile forces to engage in encirclement of the Russian armies. Urban warfare is not suited for the blitzkrieg tactics.

9. Release the Panzer reserves, prior to the Normandy invasion, to Rommel, as he wanted, in order to commit them within hours of the invasion. Instead, they were withheld by Hitler expecting an attack at Pas De Calais.

10. I almost forgot, Hitler could've kept the pressure on RAF Fighter Command's airfields/radar stations in 1940-41, rather than switching to the bombing of London/Coventry and other cities.

Should never have invaded Russia, should never have declared war on the USA, the US would probably have stayed out of the war, they could have taken on the USA and Russia later. They lost because they were trying to fight a war on too many fronts.

if he wouldn't have try to fight 2 fronts a one time,,,and listened to his generals( like Rommel) instead of his military advisers he could have walked across Europe right in to England.

If Hitler (a politician) would have let his Military commanders plan and run the Nazi Military they still might not have won but probably would have made the war last long enough for them to produce more of the weapons they were entering into the war at the end. V1 and V2 rockets, M262 jet fighters and maybe even atomic weapons. They might not have won but sure would have had a much better negotiating chips. Hitler was the main reason the Nazi were defeated.

Hitlers inflexibility was one of the biggest reasons for Germany's defeat.After invading Russia his refusal to allow troops to retreat cost too much in the way of men,supplies and weapons lost.Also his mistaken belief that the invasion by the allies was just a feint and the fact that he would not allow reinforcements until it was too late allowed the allies to gain a foothold on the beachs and beyond.

Bad planning and decision making were the downfall of the Germans in ww2. Too many different departments working against each other causing bitter infighting resulting in chaos and confusion. The technology they had at their disposal was far superior than that available to the allies during 39-43. Germany should have pressed home their advantage by destroying the airfields in Britain and then invading at the first opportunity,doing this would have denied the Allies a vital staging post for the D Day landings and much needed airfields for the bombers which eventually decimated the German industrial machine. Thank God they never managed to get their act together.

They tried to do it gang style, and they tried to take on too many countries at one time. I really don't know if they would have suceeded, but they put way too much on their plate. Adolf was in seroius need of heavy duty medication. I can go on and on on that waste of a human being, but I don't want to waste any more of this space.

There was no reason for Hitler to attack Russia. Stalin had agreed to a non-aggresion pact, and probably would have honored it, at least long enough for Germany to defeat England.

The US may have entered the war earlier if they had seen that happening, but who knows! It certainly would not have happen if that Nazi lover, Joe Kennedy had any voice in it.

All in all, it was the two front war against very formidable enemies that defeated Hitler, plus his insistance of overruling his generals on matter's of strategy and execution.

There is no way they could have won. America had an inexhaustible supply of material that Germans could not touch, but all their production was susceptible to Allied bombing

The whole reason was the rapid expansion and thinning of troops, yet not securing their supply lines.

If the Germans won the Battle of the Bulge... we'd all be speaking German.

That defeat cost them the war. It kept supplies and gasoline and oil from reaching the outer perimeters. Hard to fight a war with machines, tanks, and planes that had no fuel, or troops that had no ammunition to defend their positions.

The Battle of the Bulge, my friend cost Germany the war.

Of course invading Russia to the east in the beginning of winter was pretty dumb too.

they could have definately won, if you are talking about WWII.

A. They could have finished creating the nuclear bomb before we could stop them.

B. Won a few more battles, have a few more bombs fall the other way...Just basically a little luck every here and there.

C. Held off the russians with peace for awhile longer.

D. Successfully invaded england.

Not invaded Poland and try to take on Russia. I did Histoy and thats was one of Hitlers downfalls. If he waited to invade those countries in the summer, his army would have been able to take control, but they were not equipped to handle the cold in Russia and the German soldiers fell prey to that. In the end though, domination by a Dicatorship that is against a certain ethnic or religious group is wrong no matter if it is a case of win or lose. The reason his Reich failed was because he wanted to much to soon, and anyone is sure to fail by bad moves.
