What day do you actually arrive for Air Force BMT?

June 16 is when i go to basic. Does that mean all the recruits arrive at lackland on Tuesday the 16th, or is that when i leave my home town on the 16th? What days do trainees usually arrive at lackland?

And, i know they lock up your phone, and ipod and stuff. But thats okay isn't it. I know i can't use it while at basic training, but is it okay if i bring my phone and ipod to basic so i have it when i graduate? Some people say dont bring them, but in my case i won't have anyone to bring it to me at graduation. So is it okay to bring it and just keep it locked up?

dont worry about bringing your phone, cause even if its locked up, if someone wants to steal stuff they will find a way to do it....ive heard of guys climbing through the ceiling tiles to get to personal bags

Leave it at home. Stuff like that tends to grow legs and walk away. Put it in a sealed box that can be mailed with a ten dollar bill and ask someone that you trust to drop it the mail or UPS/FedEX it to you. You'll have to call them or email them your address of course.

Odd, I too arrived on a Tuesday...in May 1969.

Most things are safe, but things have been known to grow legs, if you get my drift. Leave the valuables at home and have them Express Mailed to you or FedEx'd when you leave Basic.

They arrange it so you get to San Antonio in the late afternoon or evening. Then you sit around at the airport awhile waiting on the bus to take you to Lackland. You'll get there on the 16th.

You really should leave your stuff at home. Have it mailed to you after you get to tech school. You'll get used to not having them and any phone calls you want to make after you graduate you can do from a pay phone. Have them suspend your phone contract so you don't have to pay for it.

My brother-in-law and best friend both went to Lackland AFB for Basic Trainging. They both brought their cell phones, I was told they took the battery out of it, but it is given back. My friend lives out of state and needed to bring his his cell phone until he arrived in case of an emergency. I am not sure about the ipod but I suupose it is the same.

He is actually still there and I just recieved a letter from him. He said the first two weeks aren't as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Your recruiter should let you know when you are leaving. They set you up with your plane tickets and everything.

yes you will arrive the 16th. You will actually leave your recruiter the day before and stay in a hotel and then go to meps in the morning just like you did when you first enlisted. Im going the 16th to, going in for PJ. Do you have a job in your contract or are you just going in open?
