The Americans dropped from the sky and stormed the the eskimos of Iceland and took over the seals. The British re-established their government and made into a communist country, so the U.S.S.R got pissed and took Britain's tea cups. The Germans all died from their own alcohol, and the Sweeden won the war.

They did lots! So did all the other allies (with the exception of the Argentines who cannily declared war on Germany in May 1945). Remember America had many German immigrants yet more than a few were ready to defend their adopted country from fascism. The more I read the war diaries, official and private, the more I am impressed by the incidents of dedication and bravery displayed by all the participants. The free world owes those people a lot and trying to take cheap shots at them 64 years after the war ended is disgusting. And incidentally I'm a Brit! |

This is a fact, and was also on a recent documentary (the lost black babies of world war 2), a lot of women put their children up for adoption as how do they explain a baby to their husbands when they return from war, or how do you hide a mixed race baby from your husband? |

aare you serious? is this a "Baiting" question? i feel it has to be, otherwise you may be one of the most ignorant people on the planet.
All the Americans did was help the Brits spearhead the re-taking of the European mainland. All we did was help push all the way into Europe, and then all the way to Germany. And while i know the Americans came to the war late, all we did to contribute was sacrifice some 400,000 (FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND) soldiers to free up Europe. Thousands of soldiers and Airmen gave their lives to help liberate Europe.

The United States lost over a quarter of million men in World War II. The Eighth Air Force took 60% casualties using daylight bombing on the Germans while the British flew at night. The US destroyed German industry and sank most of the Uboats sunk. The US produced 100,000 aircraft, 200,000 trucks, 75,000 tanks, and over 15 million personal weapons for the allies. We ended the war in the Pacific and saved Australia. The French??? The French just rolled over and didn't have to play dead. They were dead! I could tell you more but I don't want to waste anymore time on someone like you. |

In the European theater, the Russians were already on the offensive before D Day. It was the industrial might of the Americans that saved the day for the Russians and the Europeans. Once D Day the Americans did their part in WWII. Eisenhower stopped before Berlin for political reasons and he knew that casualties would be great and he figured let the Russians die for Berlin. |

They fought (BLOODY BRAVELY) along side the British, but they also helped OUT PRODUCE the Axis powers.
End of the war for every ONE tank the Germans made & manned the USA made & manned FOUR.
They also made a lot of money doing it - UK had to take out WAR LOANS for their help 550 Mil was borrowed and we ended up paying 2 Bil back, finally being paid back last year.
'A speical relationship' alright.
ESPECALLY as the USA would have eventually been in the Nazi sights for invasion. |
