Given that they were not conscripts they should not have been soldiers in the first place. Possibly they didn't realize the world is a dangerous place and they may be called on to do their duty. I would give them more respect if they actually stood up to be counted rather than desert.

were or
were not engaged in war it is still desertion. It does make it worse that their desertion was in the face of the enemy.

First let's be clear you volunteered..
no draft, no join the army or go to jail....it was your
decision to join regardless of why they originally decided to join.

You signed a promise (contract), raised your right hand and gave your word, your word of honor and you broke your word. Yeah, keep rationalizing why you had to violate your word, your honor. You'll be doing that for the rest of your life; that is if you have any decency left.

You deserted not only the military but your country and your buddies; the guys that were counting on you to come through when it counted. Nice going. Do you still keep in contact with them?

You joined, you deserted and that makes you a
coward. Fine, if you didn't want to go into combat you were free to dis-obey a direct order and face the consequences of you decision. That would have meant time in prison and possibly a dishonorable discharge. Why didn't you take that route if you didn't want to fight in battle? Why...because you are a coward; you didn't want to be punished for standing up for what you professed to believe....pathetic.

Stay away from the USA. No one with any integrity
and honor wants to be around you. Enjoy your life
in exile; for the rest of that life. And if you ever try to return, and by that I am sneak back in, to America I hope they apprehend you and subject you to all the penalties allowed under the UCMJ.

And yes, I am an army veteran and I have worked in Iraq with the troops. I survived over 35 mortar attacks, 2 rocket attacks and one attempted kidnapping...all with out a weapon. And my exposure in these events pales to the danager and threat of death and injury pale to that of our soldiers; not even close. And the overwhelming number of troops on the ground facing these danger didn't run and desert.

Don't come back ever.

I would rather be paying $20 dollars a gallon for gas then to see a single one of you come to any harm.

I know that it would not be a wise thing for a member of the active military to protest this war, so what would you have us citizens do? Should we take to the streets in Washington D.C. or do most of you support the commander and chief in this effort?

I'm glad when my son was there he didn't have to count on scum like you to back him up! You worthless pieces of **** what makes your life more special then some one elses? Everyone has to make their own choices in life. But when you signed that piece of paper pledging your allegiance to the U.S. when you joined, because you were not drafted, you knew there was the possibility that you might be sent to fight somewhere. Why did you sign your name on that piece of paper if you were going to just tuck your tail between your legs and run to another country to hide? You should have thought about what your beliefs are about any war before you ever joined the military. It's the military, what did you think it was when you joined?

First off they should return back to their units....

They are cowards....

It is not up to the soldier to figure out if the fighting is right or wrong.

That is not the point of being a soldier..... you want to make decisions like that then get elected to office and make the choices..... If you raise your hand and swear to defend the country, you do just that, right or wrong, you go forward and do what your told to do. if you cant live like that then you were never meant to be there in the first place..

What these people are plain and simple are cowards. They probably joined for the free college and when tasked to do what was needed of them they buckled and realized they could not stand up and do what was asked of them, the same that was asked of their grandparents and their grandparents....

They are wastes of life.

P.S. Love the morons who say the war is about oil... love that free oil.... love paying over 3 bucks a gallon for the free oil......
