Many of them have similar fusealage designs and rotor alignments. You may notice that American helicopters have a similar look, either long and streamlined or wide and heavy, and Russian era choppers tend to have stub wings and different rotors.
Army choppers often have machine guns mounted on the underside, out the side door, or on stub wings. Many also have rockets.
The UH1 Iroquois, the AH 64 Apache, and the Comanche all look somewhat similar.

They are named after native American Tribes. What is strange is the US Airforce just made a rule to do away with any references that might insult native americans. Cant use words like Chief or arrow or even the word warrior, which is kind of strange, as native americans arent the only ones who have chiefs or warriors (my Celtic ancestors are laughing now) I guess is that the Army will have to be even more PC and change all the names of the forts in the south. Lee,Hood, Pickett,Jackson, ect ect. Well the Army STILL plays Gerry Owen! |

Yes trackboi the Army! All four branches operate helicopters (all five in war time since the coast guard is a war time branch of the military). I believe the helicopters in the army are operated by the calvary divisions since the horse was done away with for all but ceremony. |
