What do military drug and blood tests look for?

i am currently leaving lexapro, i was taking it for mild depression, actually it was more of a lack of motivation thing. but i am about to go to MEPS.

I already took a urine test and i guess it didnt show up because they would have told me by now. But i know they do a blood test at MEPS. Is Lexapro going to show up on the test or only if they specifically look for it. Now, does somebody know if they actually are looking for prescription drugs like lexapro or is it just for controlled substances, or i should say illeal drugs rather?

Military tests for Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Opiates, THC, Steroids, and many other illegal substances.
They do not test for Rx drugs unless they fall into one of the above categories.
But taking anti-depressants could be grounds for DQ.

They take blood to test you for HIV, not drugs. The urinalysis is used to look for drugs so you should be good.

so basically you are committing fraud by NOT disclosing the fact that you are on medications. Way to go sport. they WILL find out and you WILL be kicked out for fraudulent enlistment.

Lexapro is a DQ. Depression is a DQ you must be off the meds UNDER SUPERVISION AND APPROVAL by your doctor for TWELVE MONTHS before you can seek a waiver.

Don't worry about it. As long as it is prescribed to you, it won't be an issue. If they ask about it, make sure you tell them "I'm taking prescription medicine."
