it depends on the situation. While I was there if we were going through a town with kids that liked us and were running behind us being good we through candy but if the kids were throwing rocks we would return in kind. |

Recently in Afghanistan some of the Helicopter units have taken to dropping Soccer balls for the kids. |

We throw gatorade or water out to them. Some still do it but it is not a good idea because it draws the children out to our gun trucks which could cause them to get hurt or killed. We are told not to do it but some of us still do because we are halted or something. The children look so happy afterward. But in the long run it is better not to so they dont get hurt. |
