What do you know about the marine recon force?

Are there officers? what could I expect to do if I managed to join? Are they basically the same as regular marines but simply with better training? How would I join? If I was to fail to make it in, would I simply fail and go home, or would they put me with the other regular marines?

If you want to join the marines, you can join the marines. You don't get to pick marine recon as a job when you join.... They pick a job for you when you finish boot camp. If they think you'd be good for marine recon, they send you to further training for it. If not, they send you off to some other job with some other training... either way, your still in the Corps, doing whatever job the marines need you for.
