I'm pretty sure our attention is focusing on Afghanistan, because that's where the Taliban is running rampant.

I hope not but nothing will ever surprise me again. We've got no business in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan or any other 'stan' for that matter. We have no credibility (nor are we qualified) to determine what is 'oppressive' anywhere else in the world. Our economics are as oppressive as the nazi regime and we imprison more people per capita than any other western nation (and most eastern, southern and northern nations for that matter). We are an unfocused, disorganized, chaotic walking disaster incapable of conducting a kindergarten field trip without killing two dozen bystanders, throwing a hundred families out of their homes and forcing six-hundred uninsured citizens to die of whooping cough untreated. "Violence rate getting higher"? So what? What are we equipped to do about it? It's probably mostly our fault anyway. The first step to solving problems is for the one most responsible for the problems to just sit down and stop doing things. That is the biggest improvement and most constructive contribution we can make right now... nothing! Stop! Don't do anything. Sit down, breathe deep, take some quiet time and collect your thoughts then when we think we're ready to behave, maybe we can come back to the table and have dessert with the rest of the kids but until then, we've got some serious growing up to do.

No I think the Pakistan Military is still a formidable force, they can take care of people if they really have to. It will be bloody and Libs will cry but the world will be safer when the Taliban are exterminated
