I have lived through five wars. Non of those wars was something all the people believed in - so try to disregard the negatives you hear. In 1938 there was a huge out cry from the American people saying that we did not want to get involved in WWII, it wasn't our fight, etc. If we had gotten involved earlier maybe hundreds of thousands of people would have been saved. It took an attack on our Country before the people believed that war was necessary.

Today, it is the same - there is alot of comparisions by people who are not very knowledgeable between Vietnam and Iraq. There is no comparison - We lost over 287,000 men in that war and we lost because the people gave up the fight.

I am sorry to hear you have to listen to so much negativity about the war in Iraq and our reasons for being there, etc.
You have a job to do - you go man! You make us proud - our prayers go with you and our heartfelt thanks for making this sacrifice so that we here are home remain free. Free to have another day to voice our opinions even those that are uncalled for and angry.

We need the oil, we need stocks to keep going up, we need to give contracts to our friends. Go out there and fight so that we can get more oil and the rich can get richer.... I just hope you do not lose tract of the reality even after you get your indoctrination from the military and our government. It IS true that you are helping our country's security and helping the Iraqis but providing FREEDOM to the IRAQI people was at the bottom of the list and is an after-thought by many in the military.
