I am an Infantry Sergeant in the United States Marines, so I have my own views of the Navy in general. The Navy is our taxi service, as we work hand in hand. The only Navy personel that I truly respect is the Corpsmen. The Corpsmen get attached to each Infantry platoon and they are our Docs. When we get injured in Combat, they fix us right then and there. The Navy Corpsmen is an integral part of the Marine Corps Infantry Unit.

My son, brother and sister-in-law all were in the Navy and all three loved it. My son did 2 West-pac tours and got to see places he would not have seen otherwise. We have a Navy to be proud of. But then I am proud of all service men and women. |

why don't you go down to Portsmouth and ask the navy for yourself. I'm sure you would get a fitting response to your question and while your at it take the homophobic responders with you, I'm sure the navy will help them with their comments and put them STRAIGHT. |

It is the Royal Navy I'll have you know!
What do I think about them? They are ok I think. I don't know them well enough to comment. Well not all of them ;-) |

"I joined the navy to see the world,
And what did I see,
I saw the sea".
I'm reliably informed you can find sailors there.
The British Navy nuclear weapons (Trident) are incapable of use without the consent of the Americans.
The British fleet is too small to do the job the British government tasks it with, and is due to become smaller over the next few years.
The, useless, Trident system is likely to be renewed at a present day estimate of £20 billion. That cost will be likely to triple in reality, because the governmen's history of forecasting costs has proven to be a threefold underestimate in every recent case. |

What aspect of the Navy are you asking about. The fleet, subs, SEABEES, EOD, or SEALS? I love being a CM. |

seem OK to me...a load of nice boys dressing up to play pirates.....
but not sure grey is the right colour for the ships...maybe a nice pink or maybe a light cream...
plus maybe all the weapons should be taken off as people could get hurt....
but apart from that i think the Navy is OK.... |

I might be biased as my Brother was a CPO on the Polaris missile Boats of the R.N (HMS Renown)
I think they are very good & professional.
Oh,and Tony.
The RN do not need permission from the USA to fire a Trident missile nor any other nuclear weapons that we have or had.
Our weapon systems are under the control of the UK,Not the US.
I originally joined the RAF as a Weapons Engineer way back in 84 so I know what I am talking about here. |
