What do you think of a girl joining the army??

Obviously you are not the child of a feminist. Women can do anything men can do (generally speaking). And, it is admirable to serve one's country, in whatever capacity that may be.

*I* served for 6 years, as a helicopter crewchief. I joined the Army out of a sense of patriotism... not for the college fund. And, there are things I learned in the military about self-discipline and leadership that I probably would never have learned outside of the military.

And, not all MOS's fight. Like I said, I was a helicopter crewchief. Yes, I was trained in basic infantry skills... but primarily, I was a helicopter mechanic.

SO... little girls need to stay out of the Army... but, a real woman can find an honorable way of life there.

Personally, I don' want girls in my Army.

I want women. This isn't summer camp.

my wife was in the Army as an MP (Military Police), she gotexpert m-16 and hand grenade, she drove a jeep by herself in Yuma Arizna to check the bornder for illegals, with just a water jug,radio and a 45 pistol, she was not a big gal at all, and that was in the mid 1980s, it's up to you, Not all are up to the task, but many are very much so. But the arguement isn't with how we would treat them in combat, but how the enemy would.
I personally don't think it is a good Idea to have women in front line combat, because you can imagine how our enemies of today, who have no respect for women in there own cultures, would treat our female soldiers, they would not treat them as soldiers I think you can understand that.

if the "girl" is of legal age, it is her decision to join. she wants the rights the country has to offer -she can do her part to ensure that the country always has the rights she wants.

Women are an important part of the Army. The commander of my unit is a woman, and so is my first sergeant and platoon sergeant are all women. In fact, half of all the soldiers in my unit are women!

From my own experience as a soldier, women in leadership positions in the Army generally welcomes a warmer atmosphere than men because most of these soldiers are also mothers.

I used to think that the Army should only be for men but then now I realized that the Army is more than just combat and war, its about serving each other and creating a good morale.

Definitely nothing wrong with females joining the military. Had females on missions with me in Iraq and they performed as well as the guys.

there are just as many girls in the army as there are guys now. i am a girl and have been in for 4 years. as far as doing something besides fighting, every soldier is a fighter, regardless of the "job" they choose. (with that being said, i've been to Iraq twice and never have shot my weapon at an enemy..) i think that it is a very wise choice. it was the best one i ever made. i have "grown up" so much and seen and learned more than i could have imagined- i joined as soon as i turned 18. (plus it's kinda fun to return home and make fun of my friends who still live at home with mom and dad and work at mcdonalds, while i have been to 3 countrys, own 2 cars, and my own home, and have a couple thousand in the bank....) just research the job on your own. dont trust recruiters. they lie. girls joining the army? definetly.

I'm all for females in the military. And in fact, in my personal opinion, if they can prove the have the physical prowess and prove themselves able to they should be allowed a combat MOS/Rating. I'm a member of the WANG and serve with a couple of fems that I would be proud to fight shoulder to shoulder with. And besides, we've seen it done in history. Look at partisan and resistant fighters during WW2. My grandmother fought with the Polish undergrond. Imean we have female firefighters, that job (which I'm also a volunteer FF) is just as dangerous and I've served with some fine women. NYC a few years ago just got their first female chief. Let's put some females in a command situation and see what happens! Has anyone thought that females cognative process is different from a male? Maybe George Washington or Frederick the Great came back as a Georgia?

If women want to fight let them be missile command officers. They can push the button and kill millions better than the guys! When you don't see the enemies eyes it's a lot easier to kill them! Remote control death is what the future is offering to the new female soldier! Step right up and relinquish yourself and submit to the imperial US GOD of war! How many will succumb?

i honestly think a woman should be allowed to fight if she wants. i tried to enlist in the army(they rejected me bc of my high bp, and my being on Paxil CR for depression), and the packet i was given stated that 97 percent of all available mos(mode of service) available in the army were open to women. the 3 percent were combat positions. but,to be fair, if ur in a war zone, no matter how far back u are from the active fighting, u can get over run by the fighting, and therefore involved in it.

Girls who join the military are brave and knows what's she is getting into no matter what's the purpose. However, if the case is a boyfriend and girlfriend I'll awe them. But think of the discounts in the future, and different perspectives they would get from men.

I think "sit around and let the men do everything" are better words.

Why the thumbs down? Sitting around and letting the men do everything is a far more accurate description than fighting.
