What do you think of people that join the military?

If you are talking regular army, I think it's a great career if you don't or can't get a college degree and I applaud them for enlisting.

Some I like, some I don't. Some are cool and some are not. I tend to take each person on an individual basis rather than label them all one way simply because of the path they have chosen for themselves.

i,ve been in the military for 30+years now retired i.ve seen a lot of things some terrible some good been to some interesting places and met some interesting people

that they should get better than they get....no matter if you agree with the war or not, the military and their families are fighting for all of us, they dont get the respect they deserve when they come back, or if they are wounded, just take Veterans Day for example...it should be a big big holiday, we should honor all Veterans and not just on that day, but everyday

I feel bad for them, because they might never see their family again. However, they're putting their lives on the line, so they should be respected for that. Not anyone will do that. It takes courage.

I love them.My dad is a Vietnam Vet, he was a staff sergeant in the Marines and earned a purple heart because the Black Hawk Helicopter he was in was shot down.He was one of the guys that shot onto the ground from the helicopters and he is one hell of a man! I have the upmost respect and love for anyone who is willing to lay their life on the line to ensure that my freedom and that my rights as an American are protected.

I think that they are very courageous. I thank them for their service. I know many military men and women, and unlike the popular belief, they are not violent warmongers. My brother in law is the most peaceful, hippie type person I have ever met. He spent a few years in Egypt stationed their. He is a patriot and loves the country even though he despises war.

I haven't a clue why someone joins when there is no draft and illegal wars are going on. When I got that 1A postcard, I had two choices, go to Canada or go to 'nam. So I went into electronics in the Air Force and was stationed in well protected parts of 'nam.
