What gear do Army Infantry get Issued?

Well for starters you are not an 11B you are a 09B (Trainee unassigned). You will not be an 11B until you complete AIT.

Do not buy anything! The Army has gotten MUCH better the last 10 years at issuing a lot of the stuff we used to be "forced" to buy for our own comfort and safety.

And for god's sake PLEASE do not buy any of those big honking rambo knives that they will attempt to pawn off on you at the PX after graduation and no ninja swords either, They will get taken away and put in your unit's arms room when you get to your permanent duty station.

An digital watch that is water resistant to 150m. (less than $50)
A small inexpensive pocket knife. The basic silver Army ones are good. ($20)
Disposable lighter ($2)
Cheap black ballpoint pens ($1)
Black mechanical pencils ($2)

Everything else will be issued.
Like the other poster said, no Rambo knives or swords.

The list is long and it depends on your unit. You might get more stuff going to a deploying unit than you would getting attached to a detail unit that doesn't deploy. If you want a full CIF list you could go to any military site but take my advice when I tell you NOT to buy anything now outside of socks and underwear.

Lots of variables here: where you're going, what your mission will be, what kind of unit you're assigned to, ROE's, etc. In any case, don't worry about this quite yet. The best time to find out is immediately before a deployment, talk to guys who are returning from the same location. Things are constantly changing, and the guys in the rotations ahead of you are the best judges for supplies and gear to lay into before you head out.

woa woa woa hold on kid. Dont get into this hardcore attitude with people on here because most of the people on here are in the military or have been in. You are not even in training yet so you need to calm down. What you need to do is not focus on 11B yet. You need to focus on your BASIC training and getting through that. This attitude you have now will quickly die out when you get off that bus in BCT. When you get through AIT you will know everything an 11B does and the gear that gets issued to him. Everybody wants the "best" gear, and sometimes that is not what you get in the army. You will get what is issued to you, that simple.

EDIT: Not to be rude, but i read some of your answers. Just to let you know yes you are in the dep program as a pv2 but you are not in the military yet. Whenever you get to BCT that is when you are in the military.
