What happens if you don't register for the draft?

My boyfriend is 20 years old and never registered. I've heard there's penalties such as not being able to register to vote or not being able to get your driver's license, but he did both at 18.

I've also heard that if you don't register they put a warrant out for your arrest but he's been pulled over twice in the past year, once for swerving late at night and once for a broken headlight, and he just got a ticket for the headlight.

So, since he's dis proven some various things I've heard, what actually happens to you if you don't register?

You can get a drivers license but you can't register to vote. If he did that means he lied on the voter registration form which asks if he's registered for selective service and that constitutes fraud and can get him into some serious trouble.

Not registering is not illegal you just can't take advantage of some of the privileges like voting and student loans and government programs.

Just have him do it, the long term trouble just will not be worth it. Al Qaeda will be rolling down Broadway in New York, and the Capital will be a mosque before they draft anybody.

If he applies for a student loan or any government grant he will be disapproved. Nothing else.

If you don't register for the draft, you will be subject to cruel and unusual punishment. You will be tied to a chair and be forced to watch reruns of Laguna Beach for 36 days straight. While watching this, the tiny room you will be locked in will have up to 12 cats inside. Don't fall asleep, if you do a train horn will sound for up to an hour at a time.
