I plan on becoming an Air Force reserve of some kind next year. What happens if I am to be sent to a base during a semester, or in between semesters, and can't continue the following semesters for a year or two?
Will the classes I took become become useless and would I have to re-apply to my school?
I'm on the waiting list for a health care related program. I have about a year to get into the actual program. This summer I'll be working. I plan on joining next fall.

Depends entirely on the school and the individual professor. Me? I tended to give my military folks the benefit of the doubt and usually constructed alternate assignments for them. I didn't make it easier, just different. Some professors are complete a**wipes and won't cut you any break. Some schools will just erase the course, others will give you a W or Inc. It just all depends. |

In most cases, you would get an incomplete in the course and can finish it or re-enroll in another semester. You may also be withdrawn from a course possible. An incomplete or withdrawl doesn't affect your GPA. |

The two schools I went to both had an individual responsible for VA related questions and they should be able to help you out with this question. You could ask the recruiter if they know of any specific legislation that protect military students but off hand I don't know of any.
You sometimes have to be careful with Colleges because as you have mentioned they change up the degree program. If you are activily taking courses you are grandfather and fall under the old degree program. If you miss a semester and aren't active than they tell you that <x> class is no longer good and you need to take <z>. Its a big pain in the year. |

You will do a military drop and they mite refund you a certain amount or all your money back just depends and it will not affect your GPA.So yes they will be useless and you would have to reapply |
