Well I'm a pretty big fan of living, and having the fight there and not here seems to be working for that sake. |

Hope for the future.
If we don't give those people democracy or if democracy doesn't prevail in Iraq, then the whole region will slowly turn towards fundamentalist radical Islam as they have been doing before this. The only way to defeat an idea is with other ideas.
If the whole Middle East becomes radicalized then we could be faced with a united Islamic empire that hates and wants to bring down the West and we will have a World War, resulting in the death of hundreds of millions if not billions of people.
Right now we are at the fork in the road of history. Success of democracy in Iraq will determine the future. |

I beleive we needed a place for the U.S. to set fort in the middle east. We may be taking it in the chin a bit, but we have not had another attack on U.S. soil. We are in a quagmire over there, this is true, but we have weeded out the nut jobs in the middle east and made them come out honestly on their oppinions of us. Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. |

We've taken Saddam Huessein, one of the world's most evil dicatators, out of power and forced him to stand trial for his crimes.
We've helped Iraq establish a government (it is still in progress) so they can become a democracy.
We've liberated many innoncent citizens and allowed them to sleep without fear of their own government murdering or torturing them. |

First invest in a dictionary, after you look up how to spell Iraq, then go and look up the words:
Democracy,
followed by:
Dictatorship.
The first is what awaits the Iraqi people,
the other is what they had under Saddam Insane in the past!! |

You're all wrong. War is one of the best ways for a country to make money. For one thing, if you're getting ticked about gas prices, you should check them out in Europe. Here in countries such as Ukraine, people make about $100-$150 monthly, and gas prices are up to $2 per liter.
In US, however, I doubt that your pay check lost a few cents ever since the war broke out.
Thats because when a country goes to war, war factories start working, more people get jobs. Soldiers get jobs. Hospitals are in desperate need of more personnel. Do you think thats because US has lost any of them? No. When a country goes to war, it moves around, starts to breath again. And therefor, the economy rises. |

America actually wants the natural resources in this part of the country. We are after the oil. We want to lay pipelines thru Iran and bring oil to Europe and America. We don't want to have to sail around Africa. But we can't just say we want your oil so we pretend they are getting ready to do something horrible to us. Then we are allowed to retaliate. We have to pretend we are a Christian , honest people. But we are a greedy money grubbing bunch of businessmen who just won't admit it. |

Nothing except a lot of grieving friends and family and a recked economy.

We the people have gained nothing. For those who own oil wells and oil rights like our so called president they have gained enough money to fund the entire bush family for the next 200 + years at the consumers expense. If you ask me Bush blew up the twin towers cause he knew a bush would never be re- elected. |

What have you gained?
How about billions of dollars worth of contracts for American businesses for reconstruction , after the military has finished trashing the place.
Oh, and lots and lots of oil. |
