I'm looking for a guy who was in my family but I never knew him (KIA). Is it possible to talk to people who may have been in his division/knew him maybe? Or is it just, look at the memorial and ride on a motorcycle?

The headquarters hotel is the Hyatt Crystal City. If you want to see the most veterans, I would go there and start asking around.
Also, after the ride, lots of the vets hang out all over DC and Virginia, like in Georgetown or Crystal City (which is part of Arlington).

I heard it a couple of times in the Tonkin Gulf. I was on a guided missile destroyer and heard thunder, I looked up at the sky but did not see any clouds. Then I was told that that is a B-52 strike and was pointed toward the mountain that was covered in black smoke with only a licking of fire, napalm. |
