a civvie is someone not in the armed forces, most military people say stuff like civvy street, this means jobs out of military, or put on your civvies, this is normal everyday clothes. but a civvie is just your everyday person.

Civvies are those who aren't in the forces, It's like getting out of uniform and blending in with the others by wearing 'normal' clothes. Some times refers to people who work in the forces but aren't in them,i.e civvy worker on base

Yes, civvie is slang for 'civilian' a person not serving in the armed forces or in particular the army.

We have to be careful with the missuse of the word civvie, since it never applies to old soldiers and never ever to veterans, because like the saying goes, "Old Soldiers never die, they only fade a way."

civvie = non military civilian person, man or woman
civvie street = where a person of non military lives and works etc.

for the sake of 2 points: Civilian not in the military.

The lady at the PX who sells you stuff.

Corgi
Civvie = civvy storeman, civvie clerk etc
civvie is a non military person
civvie street = out of camp and back in the "norm"
civvies is an ace word, and should be used esp when "normal" is green :D
