I'm thinking about joining the national guard for money for school and to be a part of something. I'm 24 yr old female, in great physical shape and looks like im not going to make the college program i want this year and will have to wait another year so figured why not.

Basic Combat Training(BCT) is the same for Army, Reserve and National Guard. It's 10 weeks long, you will be doing a lot of combat training with some classes. You will learn how to take care of your weapon(M16), a lot of physical training(PT). You have to qualify on your M16 and at the end you have the APFT, which is your final PT Test, you need to pass that to graduate. You are not allowed to have cell phones, laptops, no boy-to-girl chitchat, no goodies(candy). But overall, is nice and is challenging. BCT post? Ft. Sill, Ft. Jackson and Ft. Leonard Wood are coed, Ft Benning and Ft. Knox are only males. |

you go to the same basic that the rest of the army goes to. since your female youll go to iether jackson or lenorwood...both of them are toned down(compared to benning or knox) so it shouldnt be hard. if you can pass a pt test for the female standards(google APFT) then you wont have a hard time at all |
