What is the best way {if there is a possible way} to get into the Marines without having a H.S.D or G.E.D?

The Department of the Navy requires all applicants to have either a H.S.D. or G.E.D... the Marines are a part of the Department of the Navy...

I think that the Army is the ONLY US Military service that allows enlisting without one of these.... and... they REQUIRE you to take GED classes after you join... if you fail to complete them you get discharged.

It may have changed since I was looking at the requirements last year.

You should go and get your G.E.D. there are alot of differnet way to go amd get one you might just have to take one test to get it but i think you have to have one or the other to get in

Believe it or not, a diploma or GED is actually waiverable if your ASVAB scores are high enough to where it's obvious that you can accomplish the GED after entering (I'm unsure of the exact cutoff requirements). With the Marines, almost anything is waiverable except for a pulse :)

Ive been in a Marine family all my life, and I know you have to have one of them completed, preferably the High School Diploma.

smaud25 is right as long as you score high on the asvab you can enlist. they have a form saying that you attended 12 years of school. once in you can attend school to obtain your diploma. i did it without a diploma or a GED.but then i did score a 120 on the asvab when the minimum score with out a diploma was 50. talk to a recruiter, take the asvab and see where you stand.good luck...

I'm ex-Navy. Your recruiter can give you an ASVAB test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). If you score high enough your High School equivalencey can be waived and you could make it up later.

well my family is army and i don't believe there is any legal way you can do that. they may sign you up then help you get your hsd or ged.

If you dint have the fortitude to get a HSD or a GED you are too much a mental pansy to survive the USMC. Get the degree you lazy SOB. And don't contaminate the USMC until you are worthy of being one yourself.

My friend in order to join the US Marines you will need at least a GED. You will need to stay out of trouble and get squared away and consult with a recruiter. I know this because I am a former Marine.

Get your certs. It's not that hard. Marines want people who won't quit.
