What is the down to earth reason the military doesn't want Obama as President?

I'm not sure that's true. I have several friends in the army, navy, and marines who are all voting for Obama. There was one of my friends in the marines who changed his position from McCain to Obama because of Sarah Palin. I guess it just depends on who you know.

Because he is looking at the same policies that Carter imposed. Under Carter at least half of the normal Military exercises were canceled due to lack of funding. in 1977 we had to use Radio navigational beacons that were Korean war vintage (Power tubes, instead Of solid state circuitry) We dug these out of mothballs.

There was no such thing as a re-enlistment bonus and there was a major Officer rift.

I see the same things under an Obama Administration.

I believe the answer to your question lies in the fact that historically, most Democratic administrations have not been very supportive of the military. For the most part, they have reduced the effectiveness and size of the military as a whole, for whatever reason there was ;i.e. finance problems, popularity, whatever. The truth of the matter is that PRESIDENT Bush has not gotten anyone killed in the global war on terrorism...as a matter of fact, fewer have died at the hands of this administration than would have if we had let Hussein live. (Look at the Kurds in history)
The reasons that I will not vote for Obama are many, but the main one is his total lack of patriotism and love for this country. After all, he won't even say the pledge of allegiance, won't place his hand on a Bible to take any oath, fought with his own advisors when they asked him to wear and American flag pin on his shirt or jacket, and totally dissed the American soldier when he made a trip over there.
No, I won't be voting for Barack Hussein Osama. Ever!

Because the guy knows nothing about the military and has no experience. I want a president that will not only care after the terrorism threat, my family, me as a soldier, and our American values but who also understands the severity of war and the sacrifices of the American public.

"For what reason", have ya ever been confronted by someone who wanted to kill you just because your an American? Probably not! Have you ever had a Jordanian foreign fighter tell you "he enjoys blowing up Americans"? Again probably not. Open your eyes and begin to see the world as it is. People hate you, not because your for McCain or Obama but because your an American. We as Americans can fight these people and will fight these people. If ,you, don't want to be on the receiving end of a weapon then leave it to Americans like me but try to make sense of it all the best you can by paying attention to what the military does and acting on their behalf. Not by watching MTV and CNN who only want to misrepresent and further complicate the fragile mindset of the general American public.

Yes many have died and WE will forever honor their commitment to their country. But we don't run away, hide in a corner, shut our eyes and hope the bad people GO AWAY. Sorry it just doesn't work like that. We fight for our freedom and the freedom of others because it's the right thing to do. We do this expecting nothing in return and we do it because better men/women than us have done it in the past.

So that's why the military doesn't want Obama as President. He lack the one thing a president needs. Which is some intestinal fortitude the same fortitude that Americans have demonstrated for a couple hundred years.

Clinton's idea of reducing the budget was cutting 100,000 of our troops.

Obama will pander to the UN and consequently our enemies. The military will likely have its hands tied the way they did when Slick Willie sent them to Somalia.

Because they know that he will not support them. Democrats as a whole have historically been opposed to fighting for democracy and have been against any type of military standing in the world.

Take a look at the hippie movement ot the 60's and 70's. They wanted peace and free love and a utopian type atmosphere. The military, which is the direct opposite of that belief system was then, and remains today, a threat to them.

Don't get me wrong, if it were possible to live in a world of peace, prosperity, free love and utopia, that would be great. Unfortunately, we live in the REAL world where there are terrorist who want to kill us.

Obama is the MOST LIBERAL democrat the USA has in Congress. If he is elected, he, along with a Democrat run House of Representatives, and a Democrat run Senate will systematically start to dismantle the military. It cost too much money to feed, clothe, and arm the military. The Democrats will want to use that tax money to ensure that they stay in power by offering more and more welfare type programs to the people who believe the way that they do.

If you think I'm wrong, or that this is just Obama bashing, take a look at history. Start with Jimmy Carter and see what has happened to the military EVERY TIME a Democrat is elected to the Presidency. How many military bases got shut down while Clinton was President? This was WHILE we were being attacked by terrorist around the world. It didn't stop him and IT SURE AS HELL WON'T STOP OBAMA!!!!!
