My friend is from Latin America,he has the American Citizenship,his native language is spanish,but he does speak a pretty decent english too,he is very smart and everything,but he is just a little bit insecure about his english,everyone tells him that he is ok but he is to hard on himself....how perfect your english has to be to join the army?and make him understand...

There are a lot of people whose first language isn't English, who are in the military. He just needs to be fluent enough to understand all the commands and what is being communicated. I find it admirable that your friend wans to join in the military.
When I was serving in Panama, I encountered an entire Platoon of Puerto Rican reservists, their first language was of course Spanish (and their English wasn't that great). |

if he can carry on most conversations he should be fine, depending on how technical his job is and how technical his language skills are. I never had a problem with any of my troops who had English as a second language. besides there are also classes available at most posts after he is done with training. And they could even count towards Promotions.
