If you want to be general I would go with the rifle. How many hundreds of millions died at the hands of a bullet, a lot more than the A-Bomb. Look at WWI and trench warfare, essentially guys would be mowed down by rifles and automatic weapons.

if your talking about actual weapons, i'd say (obviously) some missile, tank, ship, sub, etc.

The power of the pen. If the American Media had done their job right in 2003, we would never have stood for "shock and awe" and 250,000 dead Iraqis 5 years later. Yeah, everyone talks about "our" casualties...well add 4,000 American dead to that number and make it 254,000 of our casualties. Can all of your out there begin to think globally???
